The Pre-K Counts Assistant Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and child centered learning environment where children can reach the next milestone in their development. With the support of the Director(s) and the Lead Teacher, they tend to the daily needs of children in their care, plan lessons and hands on activities, record observation and assessments, plan family involvement activities, and create a high-quality Pre-Kindergarten learning experience.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE) setting preferred
- Possession of an associate degree or higher
- Completion of at least 2 years of full-time postsecondary study or the equivalent
- Ability to meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstration of knowledge through a formal state or local academic assessment or possession by the teacher aide of a Child Development Associate’s (CDA) certificate
- Teacher aides who work solely as translators shall have a high school diploma or its equivalent
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
- FBI – Criminal History Report
- PATCH – Pennsylvania Police Department – Criminal Background Check (and/or applicable based on State of residency)
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- TB Test Results
- NSOR- National Sex Offender Clearance
- Act 168 Sexual Misconduct Form
